Some women have a sweet, innocent nature that brings with it a quality of freshness that does not threaten others, but uplifts them and inspires them. These women have a gentle strength that is like a breath of fresh air in our otherwise stressed and striving world.
The Ingénue, like the Baby’s Breath, is the kind of woman (or man… or child!) that completes those around her. The flower is often used to cover the stems and spaces in a bouquet. The Ingénue’s creative and complimentary nature makes her friends all look and feel more beautiful and strong when she is with them.
This Image Identity, or Img.ID may appear to be dainty and delicate but in reality is strong and sturdy, like the flower that is able to survive environments most flowers cannot endure. In fact, as long as this flower has a mostly-sunny environment and well-drained soil that is not acidic, the Baby’s Breath can thrive and grow into great foliage that covers any area it is given. This young lady is like that: She will do whatever you need her to, she will do it with joy and she will become very influential in any space she is given the authority to.
Unless she has poor soil. The Ingénue tends to believe in others more than she does herself, so if she is mistreated, she may accept the blame of her offender, as if the abuse is her own fault. It’s not easy for the Ingénue’s sensitive and compassionate heart to let the rain run off her back, so to speak. If her environment is too heavy and acidic, she cannot thrive, and in her desperation to survive she may not be able to bloom at all.
This is why it’s important to understand our children’s Img.ID–but more on that to come.
Environment makes or breaks the Ingénue’s beauty
The Baby’s Breath is a great example of how environment affects anyone’s beauty. How we raise our children will influence their confidence, strength and beauty. Any bitterness in our hearts will change a lot about who we are. Some people, when wounded, will try to control their lives the best they know how. Others will let their feelings control them and fight back aggressively or passively. We each deal with life according to our experiences, personalities and the coping mechanisms that we have learned.
Whether you are an Ingénue or not, I encourage you to consider how you respond to confidence conflicts. Do you fight back, work harder, become aggressive, hardened or controlling? Maybe you shut down, feel defeated, discouraged or desperate? However you respond is a good indicator of what your personal Image Identity is.
