Your Facial Shape Tells a lot About Your Personal Style

Your hairdresser knows your hairstyle should compliment your facial shape, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that style is right for your personality.

For example, an oblong face balances well with short, bounce hair like a bob but if you are are a Casual Beauty with fine hair and no blowdrying skills, then  a bob may look and feel awkward on you.

The key is understanding your true self.

On the other hand, your facial shape tells a lot about your authentic style (or, as I call it, your personal image identity–or Img.ID). If your goal is not only to look beautiful, but also to feel confident, then  your image needs to represent who you really are and not who your stylist decides you are.

To help you discover your personal Img.ID, here is an altered excerpt from my book, Confident Beauty: Reflecting the One Who Made You with the Images in your Mirror and in your Soul:

Facial Features: Your facial structure is made up of not only the shape of your face, but also your facial silhouette and the way you hold your head over your body.
The ideal silhouette is balanced, with the head set squarely above the shoulders. When your nose or forehead are protruding, or if your head is set forward off your shoulders, you would do best to find a hairstyle that has fullness in the areas that will offset these features.
There are seven facial shapes, the ideal one being oval; if your face is any other shape, you will want your hair style to create illusions that will balance your features and give the appearance of an oval shape. Be sure that your facial shape is not repeated in your hairstyle. In other words, if you have a very round face, do not wear a rounded hairstyle such as a bob, instead follow some of the suggestion I give in my book of guidelines or on my website, where you can also find some general rules for accessories, glasses and makeup as well as hair length and styles.

Which of the 6 general facial shapes is your face?
Confidence is what makes a woman beautiful, but feeling beautiful is what makes her confident - not because she is self-absorbed, but because beauty is the core of the feminine heart and having a good-hair day helps her be less self-conscious and more others-conscious. Women of Confident Beauty have found beauty that is balanced between fashion and faith. They are powerful, positive and productive. People around them are refreshed, inspired and encouraged. Their image truly glorifies God. Why? Because they have been made over - body and soul. And you can be, too. Catrina’s unique message is more than a professional image consultation; it is a rich and refreshing look at God’s Word, unveiling Truths about why beauty is more than skin deep and why the “Beauty Battle” is not only emotional, but also spiritual.
