What Holds you Back from Wearing Makeup?

makeupThere are three main reasons most women do not want to wear makeup:

1.They don’t like how it looks.

2.They don’t like how it feels.

3.They don’t know how to make it look good on them.

If you are like the many women I have encountered who wish they could give themselves a makeover, then the next three What2Wear Wednesday blogs are for you. I am going to address each of these problems.

If you are like the other women, who really have no interest in changing their mind and waisting time putting on face-paint, then I have many blogs for you–you can find them under the topic “Natural.” I’ve learned not to try and persuade a woman to wear makeup, because if she doesn’t like it, then she is most likely a Casual Beauty, who only looks phony in it anyway.

The truth of the matter is, any woman can look phony in makeup if she does not wear it with confidence, or if it is not properly applied. This is why many men and women have the opinion that makeup does not look good.

Often it doesn’t.

When a delicate beauty wears heavy eyeliner, she looks goth, whether she wants to or not.

When a glamorous beauty wears crazy colored eye shadows, she looks cheep.

When a refined beauty wears deep colored lipstick, she looks fierce and intimidating.

When a woman’s makeup (or any part of her image) does not match her personal image identity (or Img.ID) she gives the impression (which is often sub-conscious) that she is not sincere and should not be trusted. Women who follow the guidelines for their Img.ID create an impression that they have their act together, and others put their confidence in them.

Most people who say they don’t like makeup also say, “well, it looks okay on certain women.” I’m here to tell you, you can be one of those “certain women” if you want to be. All it takes is a few tricks of the trade, so be sure to check back the next two Wednesday blogs.
