You Know You Are a Glamorous Beauty if…

Character: The Romantic woman is sensual in her appearance and in nature. She naturally gives great attention to the elements of taste, smell, touch and especially visual appeal.

Like the orchid, this woman’s beauty is luscious and captivating, but sometimes hard to bring to bloom. Orchids will not share their astonishing flowers with the world if they are not cared for properly. They need sun and water like any other flower, but caring for them is very intricate. They are a tropical flower that needs warmth but must have a change in climate or they will not bloom. They need to be in the sun but cannot take direct sunlight; they need to be watered slowly and precisely because too much or too little water will shut down their blooming. Some of them like to be root-bound in order to bloom; others like the freedom and drainage of a larger pot. You need to study this flower if you are going to succeed in drawing out its amazing qualities. The Romantic’s beauty is delicate like that. Both the plant and the woman will endure poor conditions, but neither will share the beauty they have to offer. An Orchid will fill its pot with its large leaves and empty stems; the Romantic woman will fill her life with serving others but never really be able to offer her whole self because neglect causes her to shut down and stuffs away her own needs and desires.

Transparent-Bgrnd_OrchidIt is not unusual for Romantics to get pushed and pulled by others, especially men. Maybe it’s because during their formative years they are Ingénues (the Delicate Beauty), maybe it’s because they are so compassionate about others and so giving in nature that they believe others are gentle and generous too, or perhaps it is because they seldom put their own wants or needs ahead of others’. I don’t know, but I have ministered to many Romantics who have been deeply wounded by others.

Romantics are full-figured women, or at least they have a curvy structure, very often a figure 8. I would say that about 75% of the Romantics I know developed their beautiful curves at a very young age. Some hit puberty when they are still children, although they are not the only Img.IDs that may develop young; for these girls, because they are sensitive emotionally, it becomes an issue. A Natural or Gamine who has boys gawking at her and girls cruel with jealousy toward her may say, “stupid kids!” but a Romantic feels things deeply and when the battle she is facing is a more mature issue than her years have granted her wisdom for, she makes vows to herself that are often very strong by the time she recognizes them.

Vulnerability is beautiful. If you are a Romantic, you are elegant and feminine with large, flirty eyes and full lips (unless you are a combination Img.ID) and everything about you is soft and gentle. Don’t allow the hard knocks of life to make you hard or harsh. BE who you were designed to be.  Enjoy serving others, but do not neglect yourself. Making other people comfortable is your passion and gift; remember that people are most comfortable around those who are confident. When you love yourself well, you love others far better than you could by being self-sacrificial.

  1. Hi Catrina,

I was wondering if it is possible to be ingenue at age 54? I feel I have a gentle character (even though I am a jewel winter). I have a very feminine look with a sweet, gentle disposition (according to my husband)!

    Thank you kindly,
    Sonya

    1. Sonya,
Great question! While many Ingénues transform into the Romantic Img.ID, not all of them do. Many women hold onto their youthful attributes and remain the Delicate Beauty (the Ingénue). One of the major differences is that the Glamorous Beauty (the Romantic) has a full figure whereas the Ingénue typically has less curves on her petite figure. If you have Winter coloring, however, you may have a secondary Img.ID.
If you need help figuring out the second style, let me know, I’d be happy to send you a complimentary autographed copy of Know Who You Are, where there is a complete assessment quiz. You can email me your address at catrina@catrinawelch.com

      1. Thanks so much for your reply, Catrina. I am small (small ankles, fine fingers), though average height (5’5.5″). Yes, I think I must have a secondary. Thank you so much for your offer of a complimentary autographed copy of Know Who You Are, however I have just ordered a pack of your books – just then! I look forward to reading them.

        Thank you again,
        Sonya

        1. how wonderful! Feel free to reach out again if the books bring up more questions. Enjoy!

    Hi Catrina,

I’ve finished reading two of your books and loved them. Thank you.
I’m pretty sure I am an ingenue or perhaps a romantic of some sort… but can’t really decide what my secondary image id is. As I said before, my colouring is quite vivid (jewel winter with nearly black eyes and quite fair skin). My height is average (5’5 1/2″and my fingers are very fine and of moderate to short length. In the analysis section of your book I determined that my personal preferences are mainly romantic, but in the body analysis section I could have been either ingenue, romantic or gamine (I gave myself a point in a couple of id’s if I thought I was borderline in some categories). My physical appearance is slim and softly curvy; I have always been busty but slim. My face is soft and curved. Does a jewel winter lend itself to a particular style? I’m just unsure what my other contributing id is to the ingenue or romantic.

    1. Sonya,
I am very excited for you as you are spreading your wings of beauty and becoming the woman God designed you to be. If you would like to send me photos privately or on one of my social medias, I’d be happy to confirm this for you, but it does sound as if Gamine may be your secondary style. It makes sense that this would be difficult if that is your combination, because the two styles are very different and can create a bit of an internal conflict. I get that, mine do too! It is good to remember that the things which we struggle with are usually the things that make a big impact in our lives (and we can therefore teach to others). Another great thing about having two very different styles is that your perspective on life is broader, as you can relate to many more temperaments. Here’s to allowing God to use that for your good and His glory. hugs,

Thank you so much for your perspective, Catrina. I really appreciate it. I’ve been praying for many, many years that God help me live as the person He made me to be! This has always been so important to me. Gamine sounds so bold! … I do enjoy fun though, and yes I do have a broad perspective on life and can relate to many different temperaments. I’m very adaptable, I guess, and consider everyone as being made in the image and likeness of God, so deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, no matter if we see much of the image of God or not. Your thought of “allowing God to use [me as a person] for my good and His glory” is so wonderful! I’d not been paying much attention to that being for my good, also.

Thanks for your offer with the photos. I’ll have to figure how to do that, and if I do will definitely send some to confirm for sure my image id.

Thank you Catrina, and God bless.

        1. Sonya, you have been an encouragement to me since so many women tend to keep their comments private. (Which is fine, I love helping anyway I can, but putting your comments here also helps others.) Thank you.

I hope you do figure out how to send pics, because I’d love to confirm this for you. One day I will have an online Skype service or video class to help gals figure this out, but for now, I do travel to do group image assessment events. check out this link http://catrinawelch.com/image-coaching/private-edition/ and let me know if you have friends who may want to have a “Supreme MakeOver” with you. They are a lot of fun and a great way to be able to afford a full consultation which can be quite expensive otherwise.
Wishing you all the best! Catrina

I will work on figuring out the photos. I would love to go to an image assessment event, but I live in Australia! Where I live we don’t have anything like you offer.
Peace and all good to you, too.
            Thanks, Catrina.

          2. Lol. Well maybe one day I will be a world traveler.:) How exciting to know at least my books can go where I cannot. I look forward to your private message and pics. catrina@catrinawelch.com
